Local Economic Development
Driving growth and revitalizing the Témiscamingue region through transformative projects.
The Société de développement and the SADC du Témiscamingue are committed leaders and partners dedicated to building a strong, sustainable, and people-centered local economy.
Témiscamingue Strategic Planning
In October 2024, the SADC du Témiscamingue officially launched, in collaboration with its partners, the region’s 4th Strategic Plan (2024–2030). This collective initiative brought together many key stakeholders from across the community.
Economic Good News
Produced by the SADC organizations of Abitibi-Témiscamingue and Northern Québec, these short video features are broadcast regionally on television and radio. They highlight the achievements of our local businesses and organizations, showcasing the region’s economic vitality and success stories.
Goûtez AT
Goûtez AT is a regional showcase highlighting the producers and agri-food processors of Abitibi-Témiscamingue.
With an online shop open during the summer and the holiday season—complementing local markets—the platform informs and inspires year-round, encouraging consumers to buy locally.
Webinars & Conference
To promote and inspire entrepreneurship in the Témiscamingue region, the SADC du Témiscamingue, the Société de développement, and their partners regularly offer conferences and training opportunities.
The Entrepreneurship Conference brings the community together—youth, schools, and businesses—creating meaningful exchanges, lasting connections, and strong online visibility.
As a continuation of these efforts, the HR Lunch Series offers practical midday webinars focused on human resource management, designed for entrepreneurs looking for concrete solutions to support their teams.
Together, these initiatives strengthen skills, relationships, and economic pride throughout the entire Témiscamingue region.
Adventure & Nature Hub
Led by the Coop de l’Arrière-Pays and actively supported by the Société de développement du Témiscamingue, the Adventure and Nature Centre of Excellence expands access to the region’s natural spaces and helps structure a four-season outdoor experience offering.
By focusing on sustainable tourism and supporting entrepreneurs in the sector, the hub showcases local expertise, generates benefits for communities, and contributes to diversifying the Témiscamingue economy.
This collaborative model, rooted in citizen engagement, strengthens the region’s identity and overall attractiveness.
Raid Témiscamingue
The Raid Témiscamingue, a flagship initiative of our Adventure and Nature Centre of Excellence, is a team-based multisport adventure race held across the vast Témiscamingue territory. It combines swimming, mountain biking, trail running, canoeing, and rope challenges, with navigation using maps and compass.
The event includes international, youth, and senior categories.
As a collective project supported by the SDT, the Témiscamingue Regional County Municipality (RCM), Endurance Aventure, and many partners, it provides international media exposure that generates visibility and economic benefits for the region.
